WorkshopThe Pro-Implant Workshop on Management of Periprosthetic Joint Infection is a two-day advanced educational course organised by the PRO-IMPLANT Foundation. It combines expert-led lectures, interactive case discussions and practical workshops to address the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periprosthetic joint infection.
The programme covers biofilm, diagnostic and treatment algorithms, systemic and local antimicrobial therapy, surgical approaches and common causes of treatment failure. Practical sessions include the preparation of antimicrobial-loaded bone cement, sonication and biofilm detection, and demonstrations of non-culture diagnostic methods. Participants are encouraged to contribute their own clinical cases and develop rational management plans through interdisciplinary discussion.
The workshop is intended for attending physicians and advanced fellows involved in implant-associated infection, including specialists in orthopaedic and trauma surgery, infectious diseases, microbiology, internal medicine, pharmacy and related disciplines. Surgical and medical specialists from the same institution are particularly encouraged to attend together.
