CourseThe FOT Pelvic and Acetabular Dissection Course 2026 is a focused, hands-on orthopaedic trauma course covering surgical approaches to the pelvis and acetabulum. Organised by the Foundation for Orthopedic Trauma, the course is designed primarily for PGY4 orthopaedic residents pursuing trauma training and trauma fellows.
Participants practise important anterior and posterior surgical exposures through small-group anatomical dissection. The programme includes the anterior intrapelvic and ilioinguinal approaches, the lateral window with possible ASIS osteotomy, the Kocher–Langenbeck approach, open exposure of the sacroiliac joint and sacrum, and trochanteric osteotomies.
With a reported faculty-to-participant ratio of approximately 1:3, the course provides close supervision from experienced orthopaedic trauma surgeons. The emphasis is on understanding surgical anatomy, developing safe exposure techniques and gaining practical familiarity with approaches used in pelvic and acetabular fracture surgery.
The course takes place at FIVE Labs in Tampa, Florida. Resident scholarships are available through the organiser.
