CourseThis two-day online postgraduate course addresses the diagnosis and management of prosthetic joint infection and fracture-related infection. It brings together perspectives from orthopaedic surgery, infectious diseases and clinical microbiology.
The programme covers diagnostic criteria, microbiological and histopathological investigation, imaging, biofilm, culture-negative infection, antimicrobial treatment and surgical decision-making. Treatment strategies include DAIR, one-stage and two-stage revision, systemic and local antimicrobial approaches, and the management of difficult-to-treat organisms.
Lectures are combined with case-based discussions, panel debates and interactive polls. The course is intended for clinicians and trainees involved in implant-associated infection who want a structured overview of current evidence and its application to complex clinical cases.
