CourseThe AO Davos Courses 2026 bring together a large programme of surgical education from the AO Foundation in Davos, Switzerland. Running from 29 November to 11 December, the programme includes courses from AO Trauma, AO Spine, AO Recon, AO CMF, AO Sports and AO VET, with learning opportunities for surgeons at different stages of training and across several musculoskeletal specialties.
The AO Trauma programme ranges from basic and advanced principles of fracture management to focused masters-level courses on complex injuries. Topics include pelvic ring and acetabular fractures, paediatric fractures, complex femoral and patellar fractures, tibial plateau and pilon fractures, upper-extremity trauma from the shoulder to the wrist, and expert strategies for difficult clinical cases. A combined AO Trauma and AO Recon course addresses comprehensive management of periprosthetic fractures around the hip and knee.
Several advanced courses include practical training using human anatomical specimens. These sessions allow participants to study surgical anatomy, approaches, reduction techniques and fixation strategies in areas such as the pelvis and acetabulum, femur, knee, tibia, shoulder, elbow and wrist. The broader Davos programme also includes specialist courses in complex and revision hip and knee arthroplasty and advanced spinal surgery.
The courses combine lectures, case-based discussion, surgical planning and practical exercises, with individual programmes tailored to defined experience levels. Participants register for a specific course rather than for the complete two-week programme.
