Joint EBJIS–MSIS

17.09.2026 – 19.09.2026
Porto, Portugal

The Joint EBJIS–MSIS Meeting 2026 brings together the European Bone and Joint Infection Society and the Musculoskeletal Infection Society for a combined international conference dedicated to bone and joint infection.

The meeting focuses on fracture-related infection (FRI) and prosthetic joint infection (PJI), with particular emphasis on diagnostics, treatment algorithms, and the development and interpretation of consensus definitions and guidelines. Sessions address areas where evidence is evolving, contested, or inconsistently applied across regions, reflecting the real challenges of standardising infection care.

By bringing together European and North American perspectives, the conference provides a forum for multidisciplinary discussion involving orthopaedic surgeons, infectious disease specialists, microbiologists and researchers. The programme is oriented toward evidence-informed decision-making and shared frameworks rather than hands-on training, making it especially relevant for clinicians and stakeholders involved in shaping practice standards, research directions and international alignment in musculoskeletal infection care.
