ConferenceThe 2027 COA | CORS | CORA Annual Meeting will take place from 2 to 5 June 2027 at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta. The meeting brings together the Canadian Orthopaedic Association, the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society and the Canadian Orthopaedic Residents’ Association in one integrated national congress for clinical orthopaedics, musculoskeletal research and surgical education.
Participants can expect a broad programme spanning orthopaedic trauma, fracture treatment, arthroplasty, sports medicine, spine surgery, paediatric orthopaedics, oncology, foot and ankle surgery, and upper-extremity care. The meeting connects clinical decision-making and advances in surgical practice with new research, innovation and questions affecting the delivery of orthopaedic care.
Scientific research forms a central part of the congress through the parallel CORS programme. Established meeting formats include podium presentations, subspecialty research sessions, scientific posters, symposia, rapid-fire presentations and interactive discussions of challenging clinical cases. The joint structure allows surgeons, scientists, trainees and other musculoskeletal specialists to examine both the clinical implications of new evidence and the research behind emerging treatments, technologies and care pathways.
The 2027 programme will be chaired by Dr Prism Schneider, whom the organiser describes as a national leader in orthopaedic trauma and collaborative clinical research. Her involvement gives the Calgary meeting a particularly relevant connection to fracture care, trauma research and the translation of evidence into clinical practice, while the wider congress continues to cover all major areas of orthopaedics. Separate CORS and CORA programme chairs will lead the research and resident components of the meeting.
The Annual Meeting also provides opportunities to meet colleagues from across Canada, discuss research and clinical practice with specialists from different institutions, and explore new orthopaedic technologies and products through its industry exhibition. The combination of clinical education, original research, resident participation and professional networking makes it relevant to orthopaedic surgeons, trauma specialists, clinical researchers, residents, allied professionals and medical-technology organisations.
The meeting is bilingual. Scientific presentations may be delivered in English or French, and official meeting information is available in both languages. This supports participation from across Canada while keeping the congress accessible to international English-speaking visitors interested in Canadian orthopaedic practice, musculoskeletal research and surgical education.
