ASM Microbe 2026 introduces a new format for the American Society for Microbiology’s flagship meeting. From 2026 onward, ASM Microbe brings together the full breadth of microbiology through three co-located, specialised scientific meetings, held under one roof.
This structure allows participants to engage deeply within their own research domain while remaining connected to adjacent fields. Each of the three meetings has its own focus areas, abstract categories and submission process, while shared sessions and spaces are designed to encourage cross-disciplinary exchange.
The new format is intended to balance depth and breadth: more focused scientific content for specialised communities, without losing the scale, diversity and collaborative atmosphere that have long defined ASM Microbe. Researchers can tailor their experience to their own field, while still accessing emerging insights from related areas of microbiology, diagnostics and antimicrobial research.
ASM Microbe 2026 remains a central international forum for microbiology, bringing together researchers, clinicians, and innovators working across basic science, translational research and diagnostic development.
